https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluebeard_(Vonnegut_novel)
For a literary interpretation of the Abstract Expressionist movement, the novel Bluebeard by Kurt Vonnegut is a pretty swell treatment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluebeard_(Vonnegut_novel)
Some interesting books by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.: Breakfast of Champions Bluebeard Deadeye Dick
Fantastic! Bluebeard is the book that inspired me to make the switch from poetry to novels. Vonnegut holds a special place in my heart.
…Bujold (three worlds to choose from, each offering many more or less independent novels and novellas), who is also great. A few more: Sometimes a Great Notion, Ken Kesey. My Antonia, Willa Cather. Bluebeard, Kurt Vonnegut.
My favorite Vonnegut was Bluebeard.
…especially Zen Buddhist, works. Revolutionary Road -- Yates Yay, mentioned that one in two threads today and it's not even noon yet! A History of Western Philosophy -- Russell Vonnegut in general. Bluebeard serves as a good overview of his major themes and ideas, to pick just one book. The part about how people with small talents who were once valued by their communities have been rendered eccentrics of…
