一本更接地气的指南，而且读起来绝对过瘾，是 The KLF 写的《The Manual - How To Have A Number One The Easy Way》：http://freshonthenet.co.uk/the-manual-by-the-klf/ 鉴于这是他们在80年代写的，内容有点年代感，但里面简直全是宝藏：不过，Stock、Aitkin 和 Waterman 才是真王者……
A more down-to-earth guide, and an absolutely fantastic read at that, is The KLF's "The Manual - How To Have A Number One The Easy Way" by the KLF: http://freshonthenet.co.uk/the-manual-by-the-klf/ It's a bit dated, given that they wrote it in the 80s, but it contains some absolute gems: Stock, Aitkin and Waterman, however, are kings…
（见 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7_ajdd99CM ）我强烈推荐读读比尔·德拉蒙德（Bill Drummond）1988年的那本书《The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way)》。
…rapper to do a club dance song ("Justified & Ancient") seems absolutely bonkers but it worked. (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7_ajdd99CM ) I highly recommend reading Bill Drummond's 1988 book "The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way)." It seemed like brilliant satire (The KLF was releasing experimental trance music at the time) but he and Jimmy ended up at top of the charts on multiple occasions in the years that followed.
我很想看看它跟吉米·考蒂（Jimmy Cauty）和比尔·德拉蒙德（Bill Drummond）（也就是 The KLF，又名 The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu，又名 The Timelords）写的《The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way)》¹ 相比怎么样。
As a middle-aged fogey, I hadn’t heard of Rock Stardom for Dumbshits so thanks for the comment. I’d be interested to see how it compares to the The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way)¹ by Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond (the KLF aka the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu aka the Timelords). I only vaguely remember reading it in the early nineties so could probably do with a re-read.
我只想给之前的回复补个链接：http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Manual 《The Manual (How to Have a Number One the Easy Way)》是 The Timelords（比尔·德拉蒙德和吉米·考蒂，更广为人知的名字是 The KLF）在1988年出的一本书。
