威廉·沃尔曼的《起伏不定》(Rising Up & Rising Down)绝对值得花时间一读。如果你对科学哲学或认识论感兴趣,我还推荐 R·诺齐克(R Nozick)的《不变量:客观世界的结构》(Invariances: The Structure of the Objective World)。
William Vollmann's Rising Up & Rising Down is worth your time. If you're inclined towards philosophy of science or epistemology, I'd also recommend R Nozick's Invariances: The Structure of the Objective World.
这份书单挺有意思。我强烈推荐《大地》(The Good Earth),这是我读过的最好的书之一。在非虚构类别中,我会提名威廉·T·沃尔曼的《起伏不定》(Rising Up and Rising Down)[1]。它有一个单卷精简版。这是一部宏大、包罗万象、优美且引人入胜的作品。[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rising_Up_and_Rising_Down
This is an interesting list. I strongly recommend _The Good Earth_ which is one of the best books I have ever read. In the non-fiction category, I would nominate _Rising Up and Rising Down_[1] by William T. Vollmann. There is a single, abridged volume. It's a grand, sweeping, beautiful and fascinating work.
