……天哪,作者的英语比我的……不管他们母语是什么,都要好上一千倍。很高兴他们跟我们分享了这份有趣的清单。:-) 顺便说一句,如果你喜欢这本常用语手册,我由衷推荐《English as She is Spoke》:https://www.amazon.com/s?k=english+as+she+is+spoke
…goodness, the author's English is 1000 times better than my... whatever their native language is. And I'm glad they shared this fun list with us. :-) BTW if you enjoy this phrasebook, I heartily recommend English as She is Spoke: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=english+as+she+is+spoke
有意思,我也有同感!顺便说一句,我最喜欢的葡英短语手册是有史以来的《English As She Is Spoke》,我是从 Stephen Pile 的书《The Book of Heroic Failures》里知道它的,他在书里评论道:“在正统英语里,有什么能比得过‘to craunch a marmoset’(嚼碎一只狨猴)这种生动感呢?”
Funny, I felt the same! My favourite Portugese to English phrasebook of all time, incidentally, is English As She Is Spoke, which I learned of in Stephen Pile's book, The Book of Heroic Failures, where he comments: "Is there anything in conventional English which could equal the vividness of 'to craunch a marmoset'?"
以我的经验,“My postillion has been struck by a lighting”(我的骑马邮夫被雷劈了)在英语听众面前能产生奇效:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_postillion_has_been_struck_... 《English as she is spoke》里也有不少妙句:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_As_She_Is_Spoke
In my experience "My postillion has been struck by a lighting" works miracles in an English speaking audience: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_postillion_has_been_struck_... A few good ideas in "English as she is spoke": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_As_She_Is_Spoke
不知道她有没有《English as she is spoke》。这可是英语学习最重要的书之一 https://ia904707.us.archive.org/28/items/englishassheissp00a...
I wonder if she also has "English as she is spoke". One of the most important books in learning English https://ia904707.us.archive.org/28/items/englishassheissp00a...
Led me to this, previously unknown-to-me, pot of gold: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_as_She_Is_Spoke "Nobody can add to the absurdity of this book, nobody can imitate it successfully, nobody can hope to produce its fellow; it is perfect."
要是你没听说过《English as She Is Spoke》(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_as_She_Is_Spoke),你列的那些谚语倒让我想起它了。Craunch the marmoset(嚼碎狨猴)!
If you haven't come across "English as She Is Spoke" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_as_She_Is_Spoke), your proverbs remind me of that. Craunch the marmoset!
