I have worked my ass of this year, therefore, I am looking forward to a nice 2 week break in the sun. I read digital fortress by Dan Brown a while back (liked it except for the NSA being glamourised) and loved the Mother of God (the rise of AI by David Ambrose). Would really appreciate some suggestions from the community on…
I liked Cryptonomicon, but more for the WWII side of the story. If you liked that part, check out Colossus by Jack Copeland. The Randy Waterhouse side of the story actually reminded me a lot of Digital Fortress by Dan Brown. Say what you will about Dan Brown, but I thought Digital Fortress was great.
I would recommend Digital Fortress by Dan Brown, I would not say Linux plays a significant role, but the whole cryptography background going on it's really fun and entertaining.
On the topic of conspiracy theories and the NSA, read the novel "Digital Fortress"[0] by Dan Brown :) [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Fortress
…should take his individual novels for what they are, and for every one I've read, they're squarely in so-bad-it's-good territory. For anyone else who enjoys such novels, I highly recommend Dan Brown's Digital Fortress. There's also commentary on the novel by the creators of RiffTrax in episodes 71 through 77 of the 372 Pages podcast: https://372pages.com/ep-71-if-bizarre-foods-went-horny
> For anyone else who enjoys such novels, I highly recommend Dan Brown's Digital Fortress. I thought Digital Fortress was the better book honestly. *Spoilers ahead* – In The Davinci Code you need to suspend disbelief on many aspects of the book. However with DF, most of it is just regular…
