…writing, at least some parts of his books. Read them a lot as a kid. The only parts that were a bit tedious were the long descriptions of bad weather conditions in some of the novels set at sea, like Ice Station Zebra, H.M.S. Ulysses, etc. He tended to overdo those parts.

This reminds me of Alistair Maclean's book: Ice Station Zebra. Great book.
……文笔，至少是他书里的某些部分。小时候读过很多。唯独有点枯燥的就是在一些海洋背景的小说里，比如《纳瓦隆抽丝塔》、《尤利西斯号》等，关于恶劣天气的超长描写。他往往在那些段落上写得用力过猛了。
