我的建议：先读精粹版（The Good Parts）。然后再去读《公主新娘》（The Princess Bride），这样你就能 get 到《Javascript: The Good Parts》这个书名背后的梗了。
My advice: Read the good parts version. Then read The Princess Bride so that you know the joke behind the title Javascript: The Good Parts. Then read the definitive guide. I have the definitive guide, and I'm told it's really good, and I will state that it definitively…
The Bridge of Birds by Barry Hughart The Princess Bride by William Goldman The first is insanely superior. The second just really really good.
The Princess Bride. I've given it away seven times & purchased it eight. Like every book, it's different from the movie. I'm not going to say it's better than the movie, but I'm also not going say the movie is better…
William Goldman
The Princess Bride, by William Goldman. I found the book after I saw the film, and it was a revelation that even the action sequences are better in the book.
- 伊塔洛·卡尔维诺的《如果冬夜，一个旅人》（If on a Winter’s Night a Traveler）。
…journey. - If on a Winter’s Night a Traveler, Italo Calvino. You(!) embark on an adventure to find the book you believed you purchased, which was If on a Winter’s Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino. - The Princess Bride, William Goldman. This has a very different framing narrative from the film, and is very much worth a read. (Setting aside epistolary novels like Dracula)
