The writer was E. B. White. Most schoolchildren in the US still read and love his Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little. And most secondary or post-secondary students in the US are given the style guide he wrote with William Strunk, Jr., The Elements of Style. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing what he did with a piece like…

……偏好，但这些年来我们最喜欢的包括：《绿野仙踪》（The Wizard of Oz）系列（整整 12 卷，有些相当黑暗，除了奥兹玛的生日那本；恶心）；《罗摩衍那》（The Ramayana，认真的）；《小熊维尼》（Winnie the Pooh）；《精灵鼠小弟》（Stuart Little）；《纳尼亚传奇》（Narnia）；《霍比特人》（Hobbit）；《福尔摩斯》（Sherlock Holmes）；阿加莎·克里斯蒂（在她满 7 岁后我们一起读了 60 本；她最喜欢的是《藏书室女尸之谜》The Body in the Library）；《雨果·卡布雷》（Hugo Cabret）；《黄金罗盘》（The Golden Compass）；《巨怪之海》（Sea of Trolls）；《金银岛》（Treasure Island）；……
…proclivities, but our favorites over the years have included: The Wizard of Oz books (all 12 volumes, some of which are quite dark, except Ozma's birthday; blech); The Ramayana (seriously); Winnie the Pooh; Stuart Little; Narnia; Hobbit; Sherlock Holmes; Agatha Christie (we read 60 of these together after she turned 7; her favorite is The Body in the Library); Hugo Cabret; The Golden Compass; Sea of Trolls; Treasure Island;…
…favourites). She also enjoyed the Milnes original Winne the Pooh (I'll never forgive Disney for destroying it), Gaiman's Coraline and Fortunately the milk. The classics like E.B. Whites Charlottes Web and Stuart Little were fun too. We also went through a childrens adaptation of the Arabian Nights hauntingly illustrated by Victor Ambrus. I heard that the Woz used to read Tom Swift Jr. books to his kids so I read one…
