…quite adult though). I think a huge thing missing from your list is the Foundation series from Asimov (I recommend going in order of publishing, start with Foundation move onto Foundation and Empire then Second Foundation and more if you are into it). My 2 cents.

I just read it for the first time ever (I know, right? I'll turn in my nerd card at the door) a couple of years ago. I thought the original trilogy (Foundation, Foundation and Empire, Second Foundation) was amazing. I also thought Asimov really, really, really should have stopped there.

I would start with the Foundation trilogy first (Foundation, Foundation and Empire, Second Foundation). Foundation for me was a perfect book. ……说就连那些写得也比《基地》前两本（虽然我也很爱）要好。我觉得《钢穴》（The Caves of Steel）是他 50 年代文笔最好的书，比《裸阳》（The Naked Sun）和《第二基地》稍好一些，或者说至少节奏更好。但他最好的书要么是《基地边缘》（Foundation's Edge），要么是《机器人与帝国》（Robots and Empire），至少对我而言是这样。
…say that even those are written better than the two first Foundation books (that i love). I'd say the "Cave of steel" was the best written of his books from the 50s, a bit better than "Naked Sun" and "Second Foundation", or at least better paced. But his best books are either "Foundation's edge" or "Robots and Empire", at least to me.
