The sequels are definitely weaker, but still worth reading. I enjoyed Prelude to Foundation. I disliked Foundation's Edge because I didn't agree with the fate of mankind as envisioned by Asimov :/
Prelude to Foundation by Isaac Asimov
I think Prelude to Foundation could of been a nice mini-series, but overall Asimov's works are just too fragmented to hold up to being a series really.
I have two on the go. In the middle of moving houses so it's been about a week or so since I've picked up either :S 1. Prelude to Foundation by Asimov 2. The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene I've read the Foundation series in the past, and I'm going through them again since it's been years. As for Greene, I've always had an interest in Physics,…
> Hari Seldon, hero of Isaac Asimov's Foundation series, was deliberately put into a wide variety of situations This refers to the books Prelude to Foundation (1988) and Forward the Foundation (1993).
As a fictional example, in Asimov's "Prelude to Foundation" one of the locations (Dahl, a geothermal power district) offset the sweltering heat by running dimmer, reddish lighting, which apparently had a psychological effect on the inhabitants' perception of…
