Hacker News

…he's managing to follow the story though - he just requires a bit of processing time and the odd query to keep it in order. You can never go wrong with Roald Dahl of course - my son loved the BFG and Fantastic Mr. Fox.

《查理与巧克力工厂》(Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)——相当不错的书。《查理和大玻璃升降机》(Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator)——太烂了,烂透了。

…Roald Dahl stage for bedtime reading.. It's a great book, one of my favorite Dahl books. Matilda - Reading this as an adult, it was not nearly as fun as when I was a kid, however my son loved it. The Fantastic Mr. Fox - Fun and easy read for the kids. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Pretty decent book. Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator - Terrible. Absolutely terrible.

  • 奥利弗·萨克斯(Oliver Sacks)的《钨叔叔》(Uncle Tungsten,重温中);特里·普拉切特(Terry Pratchett)的《脚踏实地》(Feet of Clay,重温中);小哈里·卡茨安(Harry Katzan Jr)的《Invitation to Forth》(读给我儿子听);罗尔德·达尔的《了不起的狐狸爸爸》(Fantastic Mr Fox)、《Der Kleine Peter in der Katzenstadt》、《An Caisteal fòn Mhuir》。

Uncle Tungsten by Oliver Sacks (re-reading) Feet of Clay by Terry Pratchett (re-reading) Invitation to Forth by Harry Katzan Jr (reading to my son) Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl, Der Kleine Peter in der Katzenstadt, An Caisteal fòn Mhuir. Got quite a lot going on at the moment, really, in terms of books.

    > In Fantastic Mr Fox a description of tractors, saying that “the machines were both black”, has been cut. In the new Dahl world, it seems, neither machines nor animals can be described with a colour. And removing any reference…
