David Acheson 写的《1089 and all that》很有意思，读起来非常顺畅。它涵盖了各种不同类型的数学，但更重要的是传达了数学的真正魅力。我给亲戚朋友都买过……
"1089 and all that" by David Acheson is charming and very readable. It covers a variety of different types of maths but more importantly get across what maths is really about. I've bought it for friends and family with…

One book I'd recommend is "1089 and all that" (http://www.amazon.com/1089-All-That-Journey-Mathematics/dp/0...). I've bought copies for friends and family whose maths backgrounds range from school to degree level and they've all enjoyed it. It's…
最近在读：Mario Praz 的《The House of Life》；《Spring and All》（尽量每年春天都读一遍）。最近读完：1089 and All That（今天刚看完），《The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up》，Gibson 的《The Peripheral》
Currently reading: The House of Life, Mario Praz; Spring and All (try to read it every spring) Recently finished: 1089 and All That (finished today), The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, Gibson's The Peripheral
我强烈推荐《1089 and All That》这本书。它教不了你太多硬核数学，但作为入门读物非常绝。《Measurement》也是一本好书，从零基础讲起。
I would highly recommend the book 1089 and All That. It won't teach you much math, but it is an excellent book to read while getting started. Measurement is also a good book that starts from scratch.
