  另一部很棒的短篇集是塞林格的《九故事》（9 Stories，http://www.amazon.com/Nine-Stories-J-D-Salinger/dp/031676772...）。我相信他还在写，只是没发表……希望有朝一日他能把这些未面世的作品放出来。

  我还没看呢！我啥都没看。我昨晚刚读完《F&Z》（弗兰妮与佐伊）。那玩意儿简直是一场车祸。现在我很好奇想把塞林格发表过的其他东西读完（这倒挺容易搞定），因为《麦田》和《九故事》太棒了，而《F&Z》简直到了难以忍受的边缘。也许这就是他的《Metal Machine Music》吧。《特伦鲍姆一家》主要就是一堆关于神秘主义的晦涩冗长对话吗？

  I haven't seen it! I haven't seen anything. I finished F&Z last night. The thing is a train wreck. Now I'm curious to read the rest of what Salinger published (pretty easy to do) because Catcher and Nine Stories are so good and F&Z borderline intolerable. Perhaps it was his Metal Machine Music. Does Tenenbaums principally consist of turgid dialogue about mysticism?

  冲着这帖子里对《麦田》的各种狂喷，短篇小说集《九故事》可能对那些仅仅因为当年被迫读《麦田》留下心理阴影而弃坑塞林格的人来说，会更有意思一些。

  For all the Catcher hate in this thread, the short story collection "Nine Stories" may be more interesting to those who quit on Salinger based solely on traumatic coerced readings of Catcher.

  ……一本短篇小说集和两部中篇/短中篇小说。我最先读的是《麦田》，觉得也就一般般吧。高中时《弗兰妮与佐伊》成了我深入了解塞林格（以及斯多葛主义）的领路砖。第一次看《九故事》时挺喜欢的，但十多年后重读之前对《抬高房梁，木匠们》和《西摩》完全无感，而现在那本可能成了我最喜欢的他的作品。

  …a short story collection and a pair of novellas/novellettes. I read Catcher first and found it just OK. Franny and Zooey was my gateway deeper into Salinger (and Stoicism) back in high school. Liked Nine stories quite a bit on my first visit, but didn't care for Raise High & Seymour at all until a re-read over a decade later, and now that might be my favorite of his books.
