我不太喜欢大多数数学教材里那种千篇一律的“定义-定理-证明”套路，包括这两本也是。放在课堂上用挺好，拿来自学就算了。如果想换个思路，我强烈推荐平特的《近世代数初步》（A Book of Abstract Algebra）。要是先把那本啃下来，回头再看这两本说不定你还真能读出乐趣。
I don't like the typical definition-theorem-proof approach of most textbook in mathematics, including these. It's great for a classroom, no good for self-study. As an alternative, I highly recommend A Book of Abstract Algebra by Pinter. If you work through that first, you may actually enjoy these two later.

Take a look at "A Book of Abstract Algebra" by Charles Pinter. It's published by Dover, so very affordable. I've seen it criticized as too verbose, but that worked for me.

I tried and quickly stumbled learning abstract algebra from this book. I liked "A Book of Abstract Algebra" by Pinter better because it was lighter on the presentation. But maybe I'm just a wimp. This text by Judson seems to be geared towards graduate studens. From what I can tell it's very thorough, though.
