https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Beach_(novel)
I highly recommend "On the Beach" by Nevil Shute, as an exploration of exactly this scenario. The movie was decent too, but the book should not be missed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Beach_(novel)
最知名的可能要数《On The Beach》,但我个人更喜欢《Round the Bend》。
Nevil Shute is worth a read. Best known for On The Beach, probably, but I enjoyed Round the Bend more.
然后你读了 Nevil Shute 的《On The Beach》

Neville Shute 1957年的小说《On the Beach》。 我朋友 Tim 评价:> 刚读完《On the Beach》。简单……
Neville Shute's novel 'On the Beach', from 1957. I won't spoil it -- Wikipedia has a synopsis if you want -- other than to say it's end-of-times dystopia. But from 1957. It's delightful. My friend Tim: > Just finished On the Beach. Simple…
后来我把 Tim 在演讲里引用的所有影视书全看了一遍,挖到了不少神作,比如《On the Beach》(包括 Nevil Shute 的原著和改编电影)、《A Canticle for Leibowitz》等等 [0] https://youtu.be/Mlrrc_vy79E [1] https://youtu.be/T2OxO-4YLRk
…loved Fallout since I was 12 and it really got me into post-apocalypse fiction. I ended up watching and reading all the media that Tim cites in his presentation and discovered some wonderful things like On the Beach (the book by Nevil Shute AND the movie), A Canticle for Leibowitz, etc [0] https://youtu.be/Mlrrc_vy79E [1] https://youtu.be/T2OxO-4YLRk
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Beach_(novel)
Tangentially related, but as everyone here seems to enjoy talk of nuclear [things], it’s worth a recommendation: Nevil Shute’s 1957 novel ‘On the Beach’. If you want high-level spoilers, Wikipedia is your friend. I shan’t say a word other than that it’s a terrific little book that I can’t believe I’d never heard of. I just read it last week. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Beach_(novel)
