I've read 80+ fictional books so far (mostly fantasy and sci-fi) and these are my 5-star reads: * "Legends & Lattes" by Travis Baldree * "Dreadgod" by Will Wight * "Tongue Eater" by John Bierce * "The Umbral Storm" by Alec Hutson * "Soul Relic" by Samuel Hinton * "The Weirkey Chronicles" by Sarah Lin * "The Eldest Throne" by Bernie Anés Paz * "The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet" by Beck
If you are okay with reading fantasy books: Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree (a veteran warrior wants to leave violence behind and open a coffee shop)
（Astounding Award for Best New Writer）。
Good to see Travis Baldree winning Astounding Award for Best New Writer. Legends & Lattes was one of my favorites reads last year - looking forward to the prequel next month.
Barely recognize any of the books or authors there, especially the winners. I've listened to Travis Baldree narrate Cradle, so I'm probably gonna check out his Legends & Lattes book. It didn't win, but I read The Scholomance which is listed in the series section. If you're interested in unconventional magic systems then I'd recommend it. Nettle & Bone was the big winner. Reading the blurb doesn
《Legends & Lattes: A Novel of High Fantasy and Low Stakes》（特拉维斯·巴尔德里） 《Hitch-22》（克里斯托弗·希钦斯），他的回忆录
In doing my research on current books, I checked out a few from the library that were really good and definitely HN-worthy: Bill and Dave (Michael Malone). The history of Hewlett-Packard. Legends & Lattes: A Novel of High Fantasy and Low Stakes (Travis Baldree) Hitch-22 (Christopher Hitchens). his memoir
There's a ton of great western fiction that does the same thing, it's just not usually gonna show up on traditional channels. Heck, that's not even entirely true since Travis Baldree's slice of life Legends & Lattes won Nebula and Hugo awards last year. If you go on Royal Road there's tons of great fantasy stories. The West is just missing the Japanaese pipeline of web serials -> light novel -> m
