挺有意思的是，聊这个话题居然没人提到霍尔德曼开创性的《千年战争》。我记不清他在设定里有没有明确把恒星际旅行方式描述为冲压发动机（Ramjets），但整个故事在很大程度上都依赖这个概念。
It's interesting to see this topic brought up without a reference to Haldeman's seminal Forever War. I can't recall whether he specifically outlines the means of interstellar travel in his universe as Ramjets but the story heavily relies on this concept.
更是如此……而且《夏之门》毫无疑问是一本好书。（其实我经常跟喜欢海因莱因的人说，乔·霍尔德曼当年就是奔着超越海因莱因去的，而且他凭借《永远的战争》和《世界》成功做到了）
Even more so... Plus "Door into Summer" is unambiguously a good read. (Actually though I tell people who like Heinlein that Joe Haldeman set out to out-Heinlein Heinlein and was successful with "The Forever War" and "Worlds")

你大概应该回去重读一下这几本书，或许两次阅读之间隔开点时间，多关注人本身，少关注科技。《千年战争》里那个身心俱疲、格格不入的曼德拉（Mandella），对于他所处社会的演变，可比瑞可（Rico）要深刻得多。《装甲》（Armor）是与这两本书同期的又一部神作。
You should probably go back and read the books again, maybe with some more time between readings, and paying more attention to the people and less to the tech. The jaded, alienated Mandella in The Forever War has a lot more to say about the evolution of his society than Rico does. Armor is yet-another excellent contemporary to both of those books.
