Hacker News

Alberts 等人的《Molecular Biology of the Cell》。 Watson 等人的《Molecular Biology of the Gene》。

    …cancer". Molecular Biology the Cell (Alberts, etc). After you read this book you'll have a much better understanding of the full complexity that scientists have to deal with in complex cellular systems. Molecular Biology of the Gene (watson, etc). Can't say much about this book except that's it's a classic reference. What makes these three books exception is that they support all their factual claims with direct links to the papers…

  • 我挺喜欢 Watson 的《Molecular Biology of the Gene》(别跟《Molecular Biology of the Cell》搞混了)。 Hoel, Port & Stone 的……

    I'm quite fond of Watson's Molecular Biology of the Gene (not to be confused with Molecular Biology of the Cell). In the stats camp, Jaynes is fantastic, alas a bit difficult. But the prerequisites are very modest. It's self-contained. Hoel, Port & Stone's…

  • 太对了。像中心法则(central dogma)这类基础概念学起来倒不是特别难,但如果你想真正搞明白后续的东西,深入理解它们至关重要。教材方面,James Watson 等人写的《Molecular Biology of the Gene》是理解中心法则(DNA -> RNA -> Protein)的绝佳切入点。细胞生物学方面,Alberts 等人的《Molecular Biology of the Cell》也是同理。《An Introduction to Systems…

    Absolutely right. These basic concepts like the central dogma aren't especially hard to learn, but it's important to really understand them deeply if you want anything to make sense. Among textbooks, Molecular Biology of the Gene by James Watson et al. is a good starting point to understand the central dogma: DNA -> RNA -> Protein. Likewise Molecular Biology of the Cell by Alberts et al. for cell biology. An Introduction to Systems…

建议读读《Molecular Biology of the Cell》、《Molecular Biology of the Gene》和《Biochemistry》。

    "Does the machinery in the cell just randomly bind to plasmids and do what they say?" Sort of. Please read Molecular Biology of the Cell, Molecular Biology of the Gene, and Biochemistry. It's explained in detail (what people have observed). TL;DR: yeah, machinery in the cell binds to plasmids. No, it's not random- it's a highly biased process.

  • 先看《Campbell Biology》,接着看《Molecular Biology of the Cell》和《Molecular Biology of the Gene》

    Campbell Biology followed by Molecular Biology of the Cell and Molecular Biology of the Gene

推荐一些阅读资料:《Synthetic biology: A Primer》、《An introduction to systems biology》(买 2020 版)、O'Reilly 的《Biobuilder》、《Molecular biology of the Gene》、《Campbell's Biology》。YouTube 频道:The Thought Emporium、Josiah Zayner、Khan Academy Biology、Biology Professor、Shomus Biology(前两个完全是讲生物工程的)

    …analytics on wearables. Profitable? Maybe. Exciting and innovative? No. Some reading material: Synthetic biology: A Primer An introduction to systems biology (get the 2020 edition) O'Reilly: Biobuilder Molecular biology of the Gene Campbell's Biology YouTube Channels: The Thought Emporium Josiah Zayner Khan Academy Biology Biology Professor Shomus Biology (The first two deal exclusively with bioengineering)
