I have been super into the book Introduction to the Theory of Complex Systems by Thurner, Hanel, Klimek. I thought the whole field of Complex Systems was kind of bullshit before this book. IMO we just don't know that much in this area in 2022. It is just too new and different.…
太棒了。上面链接的那本牛津大学出版社（OUP）的书，也就是 Stefan Thurner 等人写的《复杂系统理论导论》（Introduction to the Theory of Complex Systems），看起来格外不错，因为目录列出了研究这门学科所需的全部跨学科主题。
Great. The OUP book linked above viz. Introduction to the Theory of Complex Systems by Stefan Thurner et al. looks particularly good since the ToC lists all the needed interdisciplinary topics for a study of this subject.
Gleick 那本书是对复杂性科学一次很好的快速入门。《复杂系统理论导论》（Introduction to the Theory of Complex Systems）作为该领域的进阶二读堪称神作，但拿它和 Gleick 的书比较并不公平。我也挺喜欢《世界到底是如何运转的》（How The World Really Works）的。
The Gleick book is a good quick introduction to complexity. Introduction to the Theory of Complex Systems is an incredible second book on the subject but it wouldn't be fair to compare it to the Gleick book. I enjoyed How The World Really Works also.
