…techonology world would look like if Paul Allen didn't get cancer and had to retire from Microsoft before the age of 40.. If anyone is interested, I implore you to read Paul Allen's autobiography, The Idea Man. One of the best books I have ever read, you are amazed at what kind of man Paul Allen was. One of my favorite stories is when Allen and Gates made their first BASIC and had to go pitch it to Albuquerque…
必读这个：* 比尔·盖茨的回忆/愿景之书《未来之路》（The Road Ahead，1995）* 保罗·艾伦的回忆录《点子人：微软联合创始人的回忆录》（Idea Man: A Memoir by the Cofounder of Microsoft，2011）必看这个：* 《硅谷传奇》（Pirates of Silicon Valley）电视电影（搞笑但很写实，改编自《书呆子的胜利》的采访访谈）* 《书呆子的胜利》（Triumph of the Nerds，1996年电视纪录片，……

Nobody has written a modern, high quality, comprehensive biography of Gates. I'd recommend these three: Hard Drive (1993), by James Wallace Gates (1992), by Stephen Manes Idea Man (2011), by Paul Allen Idea Man is available for $5 on the Kindle right now and is an excellent read, however Gates is only a secondary major character for 1/3 of the book. It does cover the early days…
…Isaacson's biography - "The Innovators" - great summary of computer industry, from the 1800's till today - "Ghost in the Wires" - Kevin Mitnick's story. Had started years ago, but finally finished it - "Idea Man" - about Paul Allen's story. Quite an impressive man.
…Jobs here) (auto)biographies I've read over the years that I found inspiring, I'm sure there are many more. Here are some out of the top of my head: - Steve Job's official bio - iWoz - Paul Allen's Idea Man - Randy Pausch's The Last Lecture (the video is of course better) - Masters of Doom What are yours? Thanks!
