Tom Johnston 和 Randall Weis 写的《Managing Time in Relational Databases》也是一本好书,在代码实操上讲得更多一点……

There are a couple of good books on bitemporality, Richard Snodgrass' "Developing time-oriented database applications in SQL" is pretty much the bible on the subject and goes into great detail. "Managing Time in Relational Databases" by Tom Johnston and Randall Weis is another great book, a little more hands on with the code.…

Hugh Darwen & C.J. Date,“An Overview and Analysis of Proposals Based on the TSQL2 Approach”。Krishna Kulkarni & Jan-Eike Michels,“Temporal features in SQL:2011”。Tom Johnston,《Managing Time in Relational……

Temporal tables are a pet interest of mine, so here are some links that people might find useful: Richard Snodgrass, Developing Time-Oriented Database Applications in SQL. Hugh Darwen & C.J. Date, "An Overview and Analysis of Proposals Based on the TSQL2 Approach". Krishna Kulkarni & Jan-Eike Michels, "Temporal features in SQL:2011". Tom Johnston, Managing Time in Relational…

这是给你起步的参考书目:Richard Snodgrass,《Developing Time-Oriented Database Applications in SQL》。Hugh Darwen & C.J. Date,“An Overview and Analysis of Proposals Based on the TSQL2 Approach”。Krishna Kulkarni & Jan-Eike Michels,“Temporal features in SQL:2011”。Tom Johnston,《Bitemporal Data》;Magnus……

…suggest some ways to handle DDL changes over time (e.g. adding a new NOT NULL column, or changing a relationship from one-to-many to many-to-many). Here is your starting bibliography: Richard Snodgrass, Developing Time-Oriented Database Applications in SQL. Hugh Darwen & C.J. Date, "An Overview and Analysis of Proposals Based on the TSQL2 Approach". Krishna Kulkarni & Jan-Eike Michels, "Temporal features in SQL:2011". Tom Johnston, Bitemporal Data Magnus…

…called Andl that is another non-SQL relational query language. Personally, although I'm not a researcher, I've become intrigued by ways we model change-over-time in relational databases. Snodgrass's book _Developing Time-Oriented Database Applications in SQL_ is a good entry point to all that, and more recently we have SQL2011's Temporal standard. I still have a lot to read here myself, but I am keen to see what happens in the next ten years in how the relational…

If I had six months to research something, I'd work on temporal databases, starting with the book Developing Time-Oriented Database Applications in SQL. I'd look at the history of attempts to bring this into the SQL standard, including the arguments between Snodgrass and Date, and what was eventually put in SQL2011. Then I'd see how much of this Postgres…

[0] https://www2.cs.arizona.edu/~rts/tdbbook.pdf [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporal_database

…transaction time you can then reconstruct your state of belief from any point in time. Using valid time you can make assertions about any fact in ranges over the past, present or future. I think Snodgrass's Developing Time-Oriented Database Applications in SQL[0] is still the best overall introduction, though the SQL used is fairly dated (ha). The relevant Wikipedia entry is OK too[1]. [0] https://www2.cs.arizona.edu/~rts/tdbbook.pdf [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporal_database
