Hacker News

The chap who runs the biggest bookshop in Wigtown is a funny character who's written a hugely enjoyable book called "The Diary of a Bookseller" about the ins and outs of running such a book shop. A way to get rich it is not.

I've noticed a few people here saying they wanted to read about the experience of owning a book store. I can strongly recommend "The Diary of a Bookseller" by Shaun Bythell after ending up at his very eclectic book shop in the middle of nowhere in Scotland and discovering he's actually a fantastic diarist too. • 我刚读完乔尔·科特金(Joel Kotkin)的《新封建主义的到来:对全球中产阶级的警告》(The Coming of Neo-Feudalism: A Warning to the Global Middle Class),书中很多担忧我都深有同感。至于稍微轻松点的书:《书店日记》(The Diary of a Bookseller,肖恩·白塞尔)《书业杂役》(A Factotum in the Book Trade,肖恩·白塞尔)《胡林的儿女》(Children of Hurin,托尔金)

I've just finished The Coming of Neo-Feudalism: A Warning to the Global Middle Class by Joel Kotkin and I share many of its worries. On a more light hearted side The Diary Of A Bookseller (Shaun Bythell) A Factotum in the Book Trade (Shaun Bythell) Children of Hurin (Tolkien)
