The Art of Problem Solving, Volume The Art of Problem Solving

  • …我小时候读过的包括:Ian Stewart 的《Concepts of Modern Mathematics》(Dover 重印版)、John Stillwell 的《Numbers and Geometry》(Springer)、W. W. Sawyer 的《Vision in Elementary Mathematics》(Dover 重印版)、Sandor Lehoczky 和 Richard Rusczyk 合著的《The Art of Problem Solving》(Art of Problem Solving 出版社)。

the lack of intuitive explanations for math is a major pet peeve of mine I'm a very visual thinker, and that is one reason I enjoy the new Art of Problem Solving textbook Prealgebra by Richard Rusczyk, David Patrick, and Ravi Boppana-- https://www.artofproblemsolving.com/Store/viewitem.php?item=... it is full of interesting visual "explanations" and substitute…

The level of math amenable to apps isn't really what Su is talking about. I would suggest learning proofs, and maybe pick up some Art of Problem Solving books. Or perhaps working through the foundational curriculum of any decent math program (e.g., algebra, analysis, topology, number theory, etc.).

https://www.amazon.com/Art-Problem-Solving-Vol-Basics/dp/097...

The key is to do lots of problems. Toward this, I highly recommend "The Art of Problem Solving" which is packed full of neat insights and interesting problems from math competitions (at an "advanced high school" level). https://www.amazon.com/Art-Problem-Solving-Vol-Basics/dp/097...

Depending on your mathematical background, you might find working through the Art of Problem Solving books [0] good preparation as they would build an incredible mathematical foundation for you. Honestly after working through those books, you could probably complete self-studying an undergraduate mathematics…

If you want a good "non-linear" math book, try the Art Of Problem Solving volumes.
