我以前经常写完全不包含字母“e”的短篇故事,灵感来自乔治·佩雷克的《消失》(La Disparition,绝赞的小说,强烈推荐——法文的所有译本也都保留了这个设定)。这显然很有挑战性,但也迫使你必须去使用非常不寻常且独特的语言。
I used to write short stories that didn't contain the letter 'e', inspired by George Perec's book La Disparition (cracking novel, highly recommended -- all the translations from French keep it up as well). It's challenging, obviously, but also forces you to employ very unusual and unique language.
……从那以后,我就没发现格诺有其他作品能与之媲美了,而我对佩雷克更加着迷(尤其是《人生拼图版》_La Vie mode d'emploi_,虽然那种受限写作的痕迹没那么明显;还有《消失》_La Disparition_,我发现它惊人地超越了单纯的语言技巧秀)。
…then, I haven't found other works by Queneau to match it, and I've been more fascinated by Perec (especially _La Vie mode d'emploi_, though the constrained nature of the writing is not as visible; and _La Disparition_ which I find is suprisingly more than a linguistic tour de force).
给关注这个讨论的朋友提一句,我不了解英语系的作品,但我认为《消失》(La Disparition)[0]和《拂晓时分雪哈拉莎德将被处决》(All'alba Shahrazad andrà ammazzata)[1]为意大利人和高卢人展现了极出色的避讳字(lipogram)范例。[0] http://www.amazon.com/Disparition-French-Language-Georges-Pe... [1] http://www.amazon.it/Allalba-Shahrazad-ammazzata-Giuseppe-Va...
For folks following this discussion, I don't know about Anglic works, but I think "la disparition"[0] and "All'alba Shahrazad andrà ammazzata"[1] show outstanding illustrations of lipograms for Italians and Gauls. 同样值得关注的还有 Georges Perec 的《A Void》(法文原名《La Disparition》),通篇没有使用字母“e”(英译本也神乎其技地还原了这一点)。
Also noteworthy, from Georges Perec: A Void (La Disparition), which was written entirely without using the letter "e" (and which the translation reproduces brilliantly well).
乔治·佩雷克的一些小说作品里带有一点数学味。一个有趣的“保结构变换”的文学范例,就是把佩雷克的《消失》(La Disparition)从“不含字母 e 的法文原作”翻译成“不含字母 e 的英文”。另见:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oulipo
there's a splash of math in some of Georges Perec's works of fiction. a fun literary example of a structure preserving transformation is the translation of Perec's "La Disparition" from the original french-without-the-letter-e to english-without-the-letter-e. see also: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oulipo
> 或者那些通篇不用字母“e”的小说。关于这个顺便提一句,我觉得你说的应该就是乔治·佩雷克的《消失》(La Disparition)。据说缺少的那个“e”象征着他在大屠杀中失去的家人。不管怎么说,我一直觉得英语界最伟大的壮举之一就是那位翻译了这本小说的译者……
> Or those novels that do not ever use the letter "e". As a note on this, I think the novel you're talking about is Georges Perec's 'La Disparition'. Supposedly the lack of an 'e' is symbolic of the loss of his family in the Holocaust. Anyway, I always thought one of the greatest feats of the English language was the guy who translated the novel…
