…storyline. At the minimum, you will learn to hope which is a big takeaway from this novel. If you are on the fence reading this, just go for it. Other books which I find interesting - The Slight Edge - Sapiens - The Master and Margarita (apart from the fact it is a great novel, this is so wickedly funny )
Actually historically, we foraged and hunted. After reading Sapiens I’m convinced that farming actually set humans on the path towards this very suffering. Large scale war, famine and pretty much every post agrarian revolution ill, is a direct consequence of having food…
I read Sapiens by Yuval Harari this year. It was long and fascinating, incredibly well researched, and easy enough for "light reading" that I had time for between writing research papers. A couple things that stuck…
1. Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind Mostly the bits about how our society is mostly built on collective fictions. 2. Siddhartha, by Herman Hesse I remember being very moved reading this, but I can't quite…
尤瓦尔·诺亚·赫拉利的《人类简史》(Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind)。
"Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari. Hands down the book that most influenced me. The book had (for me) not one but several simple-yet-profound ideas that were forever inserted into the…
…people, I think I’ve seen more intelligent forms of life swimming in the milk in my breakfast cereal. I read half of The Compound Effect — one of the books in this list. It was trash. I’ve also read Sapiens from this list, and I certainly would characterise it as mind expanding. Even from these two titles alone, I’d say the quality in the selection is far too variable. I think reviews are near enough useless…
