Into the Wild、Into Thin Air 以及 Under the Banner of Heaven

Where Men Win Glory is a really great book by Krakauer. All the controversy lately over American Sniper has me wondering where the Hollywood drama about Patrick Tillman is.
Krakauer 的两个绝佳例子：《在天国的旗帜下》（Under The Banner Of Heaven），直接演变成对摩门教信仰的声讨†；还有《男儿得荣耀处》（Where Men Win Glory），后三分之一几乎字字带泪。 我也很爱《荒野生存》（Into The Wild）。
…one-note way, pleading, to an extent that sacrifices the narrative. Two great examples from Krakauer: _Under The Banner Of Heaven_, which veers into a straight-up litigation against the Mormon faith†, and _Where Men Win Glory_, whose latter third is practically tear-stained. Note: I'm not saying either of those books are bad; I liked them. I loved _Into The Wild_. † I'm not one.
《美利坚诸国：北美十一大对立区域文化史》（American Nations: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures of North America）——Colin Woodard；让我对美国早期历史有了很多了解。《男儿得荣耀处：帕特·蒂尔曼的奥德赛》（Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman）——Jon Krakauer；《找寻我》（Find Me）——Laura van den Berg；《十一号车站》（Station Eleven）——Emily St. John Mandel；《末日之旅》（The Dog Stars）——Peter Heller；《坚忍号：沙克尔顿的传奇南极远征》（Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage）——Alfred Lansing；我……
