…inspired me to be more creative with the way I use words when I write. Not that I’ve done much writing for fun lately, but occasionally I do. The other book, I’m almost embarrassed to admit was: - The secret by Rhonda Byrne. I got particularly obsessed with this book, I think partly because I grew up in quite adverse circumstances, I started to think that if I was just more positive, more positive things…

…there is bad writing that does so. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is brilliantly written, but it doesn't exert a profound and life-altering influence on most readers' worldviews. On the flipside, The Secret is horrendously written, but it has had a major and indellibile influence on the lives of many of its readers -- sad though that may be.
I have. They are the same people who read The Secret (power of wishful thinking) (http://www.thesecret.tv/), believe in astrology and faith healing, but don't believe in the moon landing. They are out there, and there are more of them than you think.
…textbook would top the bestsellers list and not yet another book shilling apocalyptic hypotheticals about Donald Trump that the author always has some magical cure for. It's like self-help politics, but The Secret is "impeach Donald Trump", every time. It's easy. It's low brow after the first dozen books, as it only intends to satisfy helpless aggression in readers. And while it's nothing new, I wish people were…
