荐书:Liaquat Ahamed 写的《Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke the World》(金融之王)。
Book recommendation: Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke the World by Liaquat Ahamed. It is more interesting than the title, I think. It covers WW I, great depression, and the beginning of WW II, with a focus on monetary policy (gold…
英国财政大臣(“Chancellor and Under-Treasurer of Her Majesty's Exchequer”)会……
> Lords of Finance Oh, yes, great book! And good read. Two things stuck in my mind: A) How slow things were back then. The British finance minister (“Chancellor and Under-Treasurer of Her Majesty's Exchequer”) would…
http://uncharted.org/frownland/books/Polanyi/POLANYI%20KARL%... Liaquat Ahamed 的《Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke The World》则从更详尽的历史/经济视角,提供了另一个吻合的论述,解释了为什么金本位会被废弃。http://www.amazon.com/Lords-Finance-Bankers-Broke-World/dp/0...
…Transformation provide one popular theory as to why it collapsed around World War 1, from a cultural anthropology perspective. http://uncharted.org/frownland/books/Polanyi/POLANYI%20KARL%... Liaquat Ahamed's _Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke The World_ provides another congruent account, from a more detailed historical/economic perspective, as to why gold was abandoned. http://www.amazon.com/Lords-Finance-Bankers-Broke-World/dp/0...
Liaquat Ahamed 的《Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke the World》非常详尽地探讨了大萧条发生的原因(金本位制),以及它为什么会迁延日久。
…lot of the prior gains from the depression (the US government had a budget surplus!). WW2 spending was what wound up being the stimulus that dragged the world out of the recession. Liaquat Ahamed's _Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke the World_ goes into great detail as to why the great depression occurred (the Gold standard), and why it lingered. I also think you may want to read more into Japan's economic…
……(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IN73B9E) ……
…(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IN73B9E) ...but in the first few pages he referenced that HE was recently reading a different book, which sounded more interesting, so now I'm reading that: Liaquat Ahamed - Lords of Finance (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QIGZEK) ...so far so good; if you're into historical stuff.
……Greene。
…Greene. Some of Malcolm Gladwell's books are interesting although they are a tad popsci. Recently finished Zero to One which was good, but if you listen to Thiel often there wasn't much new material. Lords of Finance is a NYTBS that is really well done and reminiscent of Taleb so you might like that. Thanks.
