……当时班上有很多完全没技术背景的人，初等代数都学得吃力，因此学形式逻辑也非常费劲。（课程后面的第三部分重点讲谓词逻辑。）而《离散数学结构》是一门面向数学/计算机专业的课，几乎每个学生都是 CS 专业的，所以绝大多数都是技术思维的人，对他们来说形式逻辑就算不是天生就会，起码也极其熟悉了。
…it was a lot of very non-technical people who struggled with intro algebra, and consequently struggled with formal logic. (Predicate logic was the focus of the third section of the course later on.) Discrete Mathematical Structures was a math/cs course, where almost every student was a CS major, so it was predominantly technically-minded people for whom formal logic was at least very familiar, if not natural.
